SF Quakes are Looking for Players for the Upcoming Summer Season
Unfortunately our Oakland Silver B team moved to Thursday nights, the same night that we play in San Francisco. With this along with losing some regular season players, we are actively recruiting for the upcoming summer season. We are looking for players with good character along with a skill level more than a beginner to intermediate. If interested, please contact us at quakes@sfquakes.com.

The Bay Area Earthquakes have TWO hockey teams.

     • SFQuakes - This team was founded in 1989 and is filled with players that have been on it since then. The team plays at the Yerba Buena Ice Center in San Francisco. They are in the Faultline Adult Hockey League there and play in the "D" Division (there are Div A to D). Some players have played all their life, others only started a few years back. Turnover is low, camaraderie is high, and the team plays hard. It's moderately competitive and can get a bit rough (even though it is a no-check league).

     • Oakland Silver Quakes - The team began in the fall of 2005. The SilverQuakes play in the Silver B division at the Oakland Ice Center. This is a competitive league with mostly intermediate and some advanced players.

What should you do to learn more and find out which team is a good match for you?

     • Come Watch a Game - both teams play all year round and the schedule are posted here on the site. There are usually fans in the stands and teammates who are more than happy to talk to you after a game. It's a great way to see the level of play and talk to some of the players. The SF team usually goes out for drinks at the LoneStar after their earlier games (always 8pm games and sometimes after 9:30pm games). We'd love to have you join us for drinks too.
     • Come To A Practice - practices are a great time to get both teams together on the ice. We hold a few practices a year and invite all current players to come, in addition to anyone who is thinking of joining a team (and some other friends and players who want to get some ice time in with a fun crew of folks). The practices are casual, no intimidating at all, and all levels are present. We usually run some fundamental drills, split up so groups can work on different things, and then scrimmage at the end. Drinks in the parking lot are usually present after. Practices are usually 10$ for non-Earthquakes. What a deal!
     • Come Sub In A Game - Sometimes players can't make it to games and we need some folks to fill in. Being a sub on a team is a great way to start to get to know the Earthquakes and get some ice time too. We can keep you posted on when we need subs (sometimes very short notice) so you can join us.
     • Join The Email List - A quick and easy way to be kept up to date on what is going on with the Quakes - games, events, practices, tournaments, and more. You can sign up by going to the Contact Us page.

Now What?

     • Contact us! - Now it is up to you! Drop us an email or give us a call. We'll make sure you get all your questions asked and are out on the ice soon. Contact us here.

We hope to see you in the stands or on the ice soon!
