Q: How'd ya get into hockey anyway?
A: My dad grew up playing and was determined to get his kids on
skates. He would flood the back yard in the middle of winter and
make me and my brother our own personal pond to practice on. Now
that is dedication.
Q: I hear your middle name is "skiiiiiiiiilz"
A: Actually no, I don't know where you heard that.
Q: All the ladies have been dying to ask, are you single?
A: Wait, do they really ask that? Eh, they can't have me anyway.
Q: Who is your biggest hockey influence?
A: The entire Minnesota Golden Gopher hockey team from 1980 to 1992.
I went to almost every game. Those guys made me want to be a better
player. And the old Mariucci arena was great.
Q: Tell me about your experience with the Quakes.
A: My straight friends all told me I needed to get some gay friends,
so I decided to see if there was a gay hockey team in SF. I hadn't
played in 10 years and was a bit nervous, but everyone was so cool
and supportive and didn't care how unpolished and rusty my skills
were. The team is such a great group of folks - I love them. And
the locker room smells like Fabreeze™, how nice.
Q: Paris Hilton Video?
A: Saw it.
Q: Favorite thing about playing with the Quakes?
A: The camaraderie. And Kieran's Queen Anne Cherry Salad at all
team functions.
Q: Anything else you would like to share with us today?
A: When participating in a bench clear, I find it helpful to wait
until all others are on the ice, then circle the pack looking for
the weakest opponents. Taking those players down is such a wonderful
reaffirmation of Darwin's theory on evolution. OTTS.
But I'm a lover not a fighter
